V - We adore You, O Christ, and bless You. My Jesus, beside Your body in the tomb I, Our Father.... Hail Mary.... V - Jesus Christ Crucified. Virgin of all virgins blest! |
The Fourteenth Station: In God's plan each of us becomes acquainted with suffering until finally death closes our eyes. But the grave will not hold us captives forever. In God's hour we shall rise, nevermore to die. His friends and relatives carry the body of Jesus to the tomb. They roll a boulder across the entrance, and withdraw in sorrow. It looks like the end to a sad story, but we know it's only the beginning. Similarly, the suffering and desolation around us are not the final verdict on our hopes. The good news is that we are living in a universe that has been redeemed. Pain and ugliness will never win out. Prayer |
