Station 14

V - We adore You, O Christ, and bless You.
+ - Because by Your holy cross You have
redeemed the world.

My Jesus, beside Your body in the tomb I,
too, would lie dead; but if I live, let it be for You, so as one day to enjoy with You in
heaven the fruits of Your passion and
Your bitter death.

Our Father.... Hail Mary....
Glory be to the Father....

V - Jesus Christ Crucified.
+ - Have mercy on Us.
V - May the souls of the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, Rest in peace.
+ - Amen.

Virgin of all virgins blest!
Listen to my found request;
Let me share your grief divine.

The Fourteenth Station:
Jesus is laid in the tomb

In God's plan each of us becomes acquainted with suffering until finally death closes our eyes. But the grave will not hold us captives forever. In God's hour we shall rise, nevermore to die.

His friends and relatives carry the body of Jesus to the tomb. They roll a boulder across the entrance, and withdraw in sorrow.

It looks like the end to a sad story, but we know it's only the beginning. Similarly, the suffering and desolation around us are not the final verdict on our hopes. The good news is that we are living in a universe that has been redeemed. Pain and ugliness will never win out.

Prayer
Lord, help me to bring about the day of your coming by the way I lead my life. Bury my selfishness in the tomb and grant me a stronger love for those who are close to me, and those I will never know in this life.
