Welcome
to St. John the Apostle Parish! When
was the last time you attended Mass where the crowd
was standing room only? Here at St. John the Apostle,
it happens every weekend. Our school receives equally
enthusiastic support with parents, faculty and staff
working together to serve and strengthen the Body
of Christ through the formation of our parish children.
Enjoy
your visit to our site, and if you are planning
a visit to Lincoln, or just passing through, we
welcome you to come and participate in the Mass
with us and experience a parish family hungry to
nourish our love of God through Jesus Christ under
the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
On this
site you will find a ton of information that will
assist you in getting to know our parish family
better, as well as many resources to assist you
in your own path of discovery. After using a handy
map to locate us within
the city of Lincoln, and browsing
through our Mass schedule
to find a time that's right for you, you can learn
more about the Sacraments,
our priests, staff,
parish council, and vibrant
music ministry. You can
also discover the rich history
of our parish and of St. John,
the beloved apostle of Jesus...and the exciting
new Lenten program Disciples in
Mission that began in 2002!
You
will also be able to learn all about our school....it's
faculty, the Jets
Athletic Club, the Scrip
Program, the Student Handbook,
the endowment, and much more. There's even a school
calendar to refer to for events.
As you
can imagine, we have
many organizations that are
vital to St. John's and its parish community. We
invite you to research one or more and discover
for yourself the works our parish does. We also
have our monthly parish calendar
posted online so you won't miss any important events.
And
finally, we've included many resources for you to
use during your visit...items you'll want to make
use of again and again. On our main resources
page, we've included a handy search engine, Catholic
news ticker with the latest headlines, and links
to many valuable Catholic web sites that will assist
you in any research you wish to accomplish. In addition,
you may view the daily
readings,
a daily
homily, learn more about
Today's
saint, and receive a healthy dose of Daily
Wisdom! During Lent,
you will want to visit our Stations
of the Cross pages. And we have included pages for
kids to print out and
color in your home. And now, you may view the articles
that appear in our new quarterly parish newspaper,
St. John's
IN FOCUS!
This
site is constantly being updated and you'll want
to check back often to see what's new. We hope that
you enjoy your visit to our online community, and
will pay us a visit in person sometime soon! God
Bless You!
