The First Station: As God's own people we have Christ as our head. He delivered Himself up for our sins. In accepting a cruel death He won for us the right to eternal bliss with God our Father. A weak and unscrupulous judge sentences an innocent man to death. Jesus, whose only "crime" was his loving care for all he met, is marked for execution with two common criminals. Injustice is not limited to this specific case long ago in a distant city. We know that millions today suffer from injustice of one kind or other. As in the days of Jesus, courts and judges sometimes do not advance the cause of justice but make matters worse. Prayer |
