Our Father.... Hail Mary.... Glory be
to the Father....

'whelmed in miseries 'O so deep
Christ's dear Mother to behold.

The Fourth Station:
Jesus Meets His Holy Mother

The Mother of Jesus cares for all the redeemed who still journey on this earth. Her spiritual maternity will last until all the elect are safe in the heavenly fatherland. She helps us on the sorrowful way to keep our gaze focused on our true home.

As Jesus is shoved toward the hill of death, he suddenly comes face-to-face with his mother. It is a poignant encounter for both.

Few things affect us more deeply than the love of a mother for a suffering son or daughter. All her love and life and hopes for the future are centered on that troubled young person. How often in our day are mothers brought face-to-face with children ruined by wars or by self-inflicted disasters like drug addiction!

Prayer
Lord, I praise you and thank you for the young persons whom you have allowed to enter my life. When they get on my nerves and upset me, please help me realize that this is a small price to pay for their presence. May Mary love them with the same love she showed you during your years together on earth.
