V - We adore You, O Christ, and bless You.
+ - Because by Your holy cross You have
redeemed the world.

My Jesus, often have I sinned and often, by sin, beaten You to the ground beneath the cross. Help me to use the efficacious means
of grace that I may never fall again.

Our Father.... Hail Mary.... Glory be
to the Father....

V - Jesus Christ Crucified.
+ - Have Mercy on Us.
V - May the souls of the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, Rest in peace.
+ - Amen.

For the sins of His own nation
Saw Him hang in desolation
Till His spirit forth He sent.

The Seventh Station:
Jesus Falls a Second Time

As God's own people we continue our search for a future and abiding city. The road is long and rugged, not always easy to follow. When we fall we must rise again like our Saviour on the way to Calvary.

The journey is long, the burden is heavy. Once more Jesus falls to the ground and lies there until he is pulled roughly to his feet again.

How difficult to get up when we are down! How difficult to rise up when we are on the bottom rung of the ladder and those above us are anxious to keep us there! Nowadays this is the situation with many minority groups who have little chance to improve their lot.

Prayer
Lord, I also need to rise up at times. I find myself afflicted with feelings of uselessness, and life seems devoid of meaning. And even though there are many important persons in my life I still feel quite lonely at times. Help me to rise up . . . and to do what I can for those who are far worse off than I.
