V - We adore You, O Christ, and bless You. My Jesus, Who didst comfort the pious Our Father.... Hail Mary.... Glory be V - Jesus Christ Crucified. O' sweet Mother! Fount of Love, |
The Eighth Station: The theater of our earthly pilgrimage is sometimes a valley of tears. The daughters of Jerusalem weeping for our Saviour were reminded, as we are now, that they had reason to weep for themselves and their children. Women along the way weep over his bloody appearance and Jesus, a dying man, is called on to console them! He warns them to weep not for him but for their children. As Christians we are called to have compassion toward those who are abandoned, the "losers" of this world. And we are asked to express this compassion not simply by tears but by sharing from our abundance of food, riches and talents. Prayer |
