V - We adore You, O Christ, and bless You.
+ - Because by Your holy cross You have
redeemed the world.

My Jesus, three hours did You hang in
agony, and then die for me; let me die
before I sin, and if I live, live for Your love
and faithful service.

Our Father.... Hail Mary....
Glory be to the Father....

V - Jesus Christ Crucified.
+ - Have mercy on Us.
V - May the souls of the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, Rest in peace.
+ - Amen.

Let me mingle tears with thee
Mourning Him who mourned with me,
All the days that I may live.

The Twelfth Station:
Jesus Dies

He was holy, innocent, undefiled. He knew nothing of sin, but came to blot out the sins of the world. He proved His love by laying down His life for us.

At last the suffering is over. Jesus commits himself into his Father's hands, bows his head, and dies.

Another victim of violence. How many other innocent persons have joined him since then? His was a message of peace but we are unable to hear it over the din of battle and the shouts of those at enmity with one another. When will we ever learn?

Prayer
Lord, I find the seeds of destruction within myself. Prejudice and ill-will are not strangers to me and my tongue can slice a neighbor in two and commit "tiny murders" of its own. But you died to free me from this kind of tyranny, and I know you will help me be a messenger of your peace.
