V - We adore You, O Christ, and bless You. O Mary, Mother most sorrowful, the sword Our Father.... Hail Mary.... V - Jesus Christ Crucified. By the Cross with You to stay |
The Thirteenth Station: At the end of our earthly journey we, like our blessed Redeemer, are taken down from the cross of this life. United with Him in the likeness of His death, we shall be so in the likeness of His resurrection also. Friends come forward to claim the body of Jesus. Tenderly they take him down from the cross and place him in the arms of his mother. To the friends of Jesus the darkness of that moment must have seemed unconquerable. Likewise, the complex problems facing us can sometimes seem insurmountable. By her complete faith and trust at this time, Mary points out a way through the darkness to light. Prayer |
