Father Jamie Hottovy

Fr. Hottovy was born in Lincoln to Bern and Yvonne Hottovy and is the oldest of four boys. He grew up in Lincoln in St. Joseph’s parish where he attended grade school. He went to high school at Lincoln East and studied two years of Architecture at UNL. During this time at the university he discerned his vocation to the priesthood and studied Pre-Theology and Catholic Philosophy at the Oratory of St. Philip Neri Seminary in Toronto, Canada for two years. He continued his seminary studies for the next four years at St. Joseph’s Seminary in Yonkers, New York. He was ordained in May 1999 and has been an assistant at St. Michael’s Church in Hastings and an assistant at the Cathedral for the past two years before arriving at St. John’s.
